Welcome

Lago Alianza (formerly the Lake Chapala Study Group) was founded to strengthen and connect nonprofits in the Lake Chapala region. We strive to bring people and organizations together, creating a network of support that amplifies the impact of local initiatives. By fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and building capacity, we aim to ensure that nonprofits thrive and continue to serve the diverse needs of our community.

COLLABORATION

We believe the strongest solutions come from working together. Lago Alianza connects local nonprofits, donors, and volunteers to share knowledge, build partnerships, and avoid duplication of efforts. By creating spaces for dialogue and joint projects, we help organizations amplify their collective voice and deepen their community impact.

DEVELOPMENT

Sustainability requires growth. We support nonprofits through training, resources, and strategic guidance designed to strengthen leadership, improve operations, and build long-term resilience. From workshops to peer learning, we are committed to helping organizations gain the tools they need to serve effectively today and adapt for tomorrow.

FUNDING

Nonprofits rely on more than passion—they need resources. Lago Alianza works to increase visibility and expand access to funding by connecting donors with high-impact organizations. Through research, community engagement, and shared fundraising initiatives, we help local nonprofits secure the financial support needed to pursue their missions.

Nonprofit Survey

In 2025, Lago Alianza led a wide-ranging survey of nonprofits across the Lake Chapala region. The report highlights local strengths, challenges, and opportunities, offering a clearer picture of how organizations serve the community.

By sharing this research, we aim to spark dialogue, guide funding, and strengthen collaboration among nonprofits, donors, and volunteers. Together, we can turn insights into action for lasting community impact.

How Can Nonprofits Better Collaborate And Share Resources With Each Other?

We recently came across a very interesting article by Blue Avocado, an online magazine with hundreds of articles written by nonprofit leaders, for nonprofit leaders.

In an era where collaboration is key to maximizing impact, nonprofits are increasingly seeking ways to work together more effectively. In the link below, you'll read about how nonprofit leaders share practical strategies for nonprofit collaboration, including trust-building, shared goals, technology use, and resource pooling to maximize impact and reduce redundancy.
